Indigenous Made Beaded Jewelry

Empowerment through beadwork

“For me, beading is a way to connect with my ehtsu (grandmother), a way to slowly start healing wounds left by colonialism, and most of all a method of expressing myself that honours my Indigenous culture.

The first time I wore beaded earrings, I felt so empowered. It was like putting on armour - it made me feel stronger and more brave than ever before. That is a feeling I am hoping I will be able to pass on to others with my beadwork that is made for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people to wear.”
